Jai Sriman Narayana !!
Rishi Vaishampayana continued “
Pandavas preceded to Varanavarth in an auspicious chariots pulled by fine
horses which has the speed of wind.
Before getting into the Chariots, Pandavas reverentially greeted and prostrated
before Bhishmacharya, King Dhrutharashtra, Dronacharya, Kripacharya, Vidura and
elderly members of Kuru family. Pandavas
affectionately embraced the youngest members of the family, bade farewell to
the ministers of assembly and the people of Hasthinapur. Vidura and elderly members of the Kuru family
and the people of Hasthinapur followed the lion like valorous Pandavas for a
little distance and returned with heavy heart.
The people of Hasthinapur observed the grief of sons of Pandu while
leaving their own land and they screamed in loud voices “The wicked and blind
King Dhrutharashtra is failed to pay attention towards the righteousness and impartiality. The sinless Yudhishtira, valorous Bhima, or
Dhanajya/ Arjuna son of Kunthi/Prutha should not have any guilt feelings in
future (The people of Hasthinapur had foreseen the great war of Kurushetra). How could it is possible for the honorable sons
of Madhri, Nakula and Sahadeva to react to this situation when Yudhishtira,
Bhima and Arjuna keeps silence at this moment? King Dhrutharashtra is jealous of
the achievement of these valorous sons of Pandu in their right of their
Kingdom. How did Bhishmacharya remain
silent without any grief and keep unnoticed the unfair practises when Pandavas
exiled to the sinful land Varanavarth?
The King Vichithraveerya, son of righteous King Shanthanu and King Pandu
were ruled this city successfully and took care of its subjects as their
children, but King Pandu attained
salvation in the world of deities and King Dhrutharashtra turned self-centered
and arrogant towards the sinless sons of Pandu, legal heir to the throne. Why should we stay in this flourished
city? We will discard our homes and treat
that we too exiled from this city and follow Yudhishtira the righteous son of
Pandu.” Yudhishtira listened to the
sorrowful words of the people of Hasthinapur, though he was completely
devastated at the turn of events, he pacified the people “King is like our father,
he is respectable, he is our preceptor and elderly person, we should always
follow his instructions without any doubt.
You all are our sincere friends, you have been caring and pouring your
good wishes upon us, hence you have pleased us; you have to return to your
homes now and sincerely wait for the opportunity to serve us for the betterment
at the right time.” after listening to the modest opinion of Yudhishtira, the
people of Hasthinapur started to leave, before that they circumambulated and
showered blessings on them. Once the
people of Hasthinapura started to leave to their homes, Vidura who is prominent
in the Nithi Sastra/impartiality approached Yudhishtira and spoke in the slang
of an inferior caste/Mleccha, that was well known to Yudhishtira as well “It is
the responsibility of an individual to be cautious and remain well- protected
himself against the treacherous plans of the enemies in the regime. If an individual knows the fact that there
are various methods other than the weapons to chop off the body and aware to protect
from them, he remains victorious and unaffected by the enemies. The blaze which swallow the straw and wood,
the sun which evaporates the dew drops cannot do harm to the rats or deer
sheltered in the hollow of a tree, thus the intelligent ones survive at the
time of crisis. A blind has no knowledge
of paths and never bothers to know the same. A non ambitious individual never prosper in
his life. Keep all that I have mentioned
in your memories and protect yourselves.
Your enemies’ evil idea to punish with the non-weapon/wax house should
be confronted like a lion which resides in a cavern with various exits to
protect it from the hazard; it will help at the time of fire hazard. An individual attain the knowledge of various
routes when he takes up expedition, stars will help to locate the different
directions. Who has perfect control over
their senses cannot be defeated by enemy.”
Yudhishtira replied ‘I have understood the truth’ after listening to the
inspirational speeches of Vidura. Later,
Vidura followed them for a while and bade farewell and wished them good luck
and returned home. Bhishmacharya, People of Hasthinapur and
Vidura stopped following them, then Kunthi spoke “I did not understand anything
Kshatri/Vidura has told you, he was not conversing anything but you have replied
to him in the same slang. We did not
understand anything, if it’s harmless to know I would like to hear about the
conversation.” Yudhishtira answered “
The righteous Vidura warned me about the wax palace constructed for us which is
easily burn into ashes, also instructed me to learn the ways to protect from
the danger and advised that who has perfect control over senses would always be
successful. I replied to Vidura that I
have understood all that said.”
Rishi Vaishampayana spoke “ Pandavas
arrived at Varanavarth and met the people of the city on the eighth day with
the star Rohini in the month Phalgun.”
