Jai Sriman Narayana !!
Rishi Vaishampayana continued “The
people of Varanavarth came to know about the arrival of Pandava’s and it
brought them in a state of ecstasy.
They all hurried in various convoys to receive the sons of Pandu, they
were carried numerous gifts mentioned in the scriptures to offer the sinless
sons of Pandu and they showered blessings on them uttering ‘Victory to you all’,
they gathered around the sons of Kunthi with utmost admiration. Yudhistira majestically stood in the middle of
those people of Varanavarth like Lord Indra among the deities, they were all adorned in various precious
gems were highly revered by the people of Varanavarth, eventually they entered
in the thickly populated city. They
visited the house of Brahmins who were engaged in their duties of teaching Veda
& Scriptures, prominent members of the Varanavarth, and the homes of soothars,
Vaishya and shudras. Oh! The bull of
Bharatha dynasty, Pandavas assigned Purochan to proceed to the palace
constructed for them and they followed him.
At the arrival Purochan served them with meals, drinks, beddings
etc.. Pandavas continued to reside in this
palace was highly revered by the people of Varanavarth and Purochan, in this
way, Pandavas stayed ten days in that palace.
Though the palace was inauspicious place to live in, Purochan repeatedly
convinced them that it was one of the divine palaces to settle. Later, well attired Pandavas with various
gems and jewelry entered like Yaksha in to the inner areas of palace with
Purochan. The sinless Yudhishtira keenly
observed the entire palace and informed Bhima that it was constructed with
easily burning materials, mostly wax added with high quality ghee and fat. Yudhishtira spoke to Bhima “ Oh! Destroyer of
enemies, it is clearly evident that the palace is constructed with easily
burning materials. It was the plan of
our enemy to construct the palace with all those dried materials like grass,
straw, woods added with pure ghee by a skillful architect. It was the treacherous place of Duryodhana,
we all believed Purochan who is the wicked servant of Duryodhana waiting to
burn us into ashes. Oh! Son of Prutha,
the righteous and intelligent Vidura who was always desired for our good has already
informed me about the depraved plan of Duryodhana and the wax house.” Bhima replied “Oh! Brother, if you are aware
of this palace was constructed with easily burning materials, in my opinion it
is advisable to leave this palace right now and return to our home.” Yudhistira answered ‘Oh! Bhima, it is wise to
be in this palace, we will continue to live here without giving any suspicion
to Purochan, we will remain vigilant and cautious, and at the same time we
should find an appropriate way to protect us.
Purochan is an evil-doer living in this palace at the instruction of
Duryodhana. How do Bhishmacharya react
to the situation after listening to the news of our death in fire accident? Did
he get fuming with anger towards Kauravas? There is a possible chance that all
the righteous members in our family of Kurus include our grandfather
Bhishmacharya may get wrath and react to this incident. If we move out this palace with the fear of
fire accident, there is a risk that Duryodhana who is desired the throne of
Hasthinapur has the power and men to follow his evil instructions, he will send
his men to search for us and kill. We
have neither power nor men with us, he has possessed the both. We have no companion or close association, we
have no wealth but Duryodhana has all that in his possession. Is not that clear
that Duryodhana will try to kill us by using any of the means, either by wealth
or power or men? Therefore, we will bamboozle
Purochan and run our days. We will
continue to live in forests and wander on Earth, conduct rigorous hunting
expedition that will help us to find out various routes, which will help us to
protect from the enemies in times of crisis.
Today, we will secretly construct a tunnel from our chamber. Thus, we will do all those needed to protect
us in a secret manner; we will definitely win over the fire accident. We will continue to stay here and do our work
without the knowledge of Purochan or the people of Varanavarth, no one should
know about our existence.”
